Brand Asset Naming Conventions

Consistency fails when people grab the wrong file. Naming conventions are boring—but they’re one of the fastest ways to reduce mistakes across a small team.

Simple rules

Rules

  • One source of truth folder (don’t duplicate master assets across multiple places).
  • Use consistent components in names: brand, asset type, variant, color, size, format, version.
  • Avoid spaces and special characters; use hyphens.
  • Include version numbers when assets change (v1, v2).
