Brand Survey Questions (Copy/Paste)

A short quarterly survey is the easiest way to measure awareness and perception without expensive tools. Copy/paste this and keep it consistent over time.

Setup tips (so results are usable)

Tips

  • Send quarterly (not weekly). Brand moves slower than campaigns.
  • Aim for 30–100 responses if possible; smaller is still useful if consistent.
  • Use the same questions each time so trends are real.
  • Segment results if you can (new vs returning customers; local vs non-local).

Question bank

Awareness

  • Unaided recall: “When you think of [CATEGORY], what brands come to mind?”
  • Aided awareness: “Which of these brands have you heard of?” (include you + competitors)
  • Recognition: “Have you seen/heard of [YOUR BRAND] before today?” (Yes/No)
  • Channel source: “Where have you seen or heard about us?” (multi-select)

Perception

  • Attribute rating: “How would you rate [YOUR BRAND] on these?” (1–5) — Quality, Trust, Value, Ease, Expertise
  • Differentiation: “What makes us different (if anything)?” (open text)
  • Association: “What 3 words describe our brand?” (open text)
  • Clarity: “After visiting our site, I understand what this business does.” (1–5)

Behavior

  • Likelihood to recommend (NPS-style): “How likely are you to recommend us?” (0–10)
  • Purchase intent: “How likely are you to buy/book/shop in the next 30 days?” (1–5)
  • Objection: “What almost stopped you from buying?” (open text)
